Third Person POV

The atmosphere in the meeting was tense and pin drop silence prevailed with every person in the room trying their best to not do something that will irk the CEO. It was not a new occurrence.

Every person involved in the business was aware how ruthless the eldest son of the DeLuca family was.

Alaric Deluca didn't allow anything less than perfection and anyone who was not par his standard was immediately removed from his team.

The current meeting which was to discuss the DeLuca cooperation acquisition wasn't going too well.

And every single person present in the room was pitituing the project incharge who not only failed to deliver the project in time but also tried to cover up his mistakes by deceiving the company records.

Alaric though strict always appreciated someone's genuine efforts even if results were not satisfying , but he would absolutely destroy anyone who dared to lie to him.

The project manager who was presenting the acquisitions data was not as smart as he thought he was.

" Mr. James can you please explain why there is a difference of 1.5 percent in the market value in your report" Alaric spoke to the man in front if him while sitting in the head seat in the conference room.

The said man started to sweat not expecting his boss to find this miniscule mistake in his reports.

Everybody in the conference room tensed knowing they all were going to face their boss wrath. Not a pleasant thing if you ask me jk 😐

" Si...ir......i...I tha...t " Mr James stumbled upon his words not knowing how to cover up his mistakes

Alaric just raised his eyebrow in response to the suttering man.

The temperature in the room felt few degrees and everybody felt a chill down their spine. Noticing the ticking muscle in Alaric's jaw.

" why haven't I been informed about the losses in latest acquisition ?" Alaric voice boomed inside the conference room.

This project was extremely important to him. It was the first time DeLuca corporations had partnered with other business moguls for an acquisition.

The other partners in the room also stiffened. They were well aware what losing Alaric as a partner would mean to their business. If anyone got on the bad list of Alaric Deluca, they were never able to recover from the losses and mostly went bankrupt.

Everyone in the meeting room was holding their breathe while top associates started questioning their subordinates.

When suddenly the door if the conference room opened and a very pale Mike, Alaric's assistant entered holding a phone his hand.

They were well aware that Alaric never attended to any call during the meetings. So Mike must have had a death wish to interrupt the meeting.

Everybody in the room feared that this interupption will create more trouble for them.

Mike's moved towards Alaric in a hurry and bent down at his level to speak

Alaric's mood worsened.

" You know better not to disturb the meeting " Alaric spoke in his cold emotionless tone which made Mike gulp in fear . Ofcourse he knew the rules, he wasn't able to keep his position as the asssistang of Alaric for five years without any knowledge but the matter in hand was far more important and crucial.

" It's about Miss Deluca "Mike told Alaric in a low tone. Aware that Alaric kept his personal especially his sister under strict covers.

Alaric stiffened hearing his little sister's name. An unknown fear crawled its way in his mind.

" What happened ?" He questioned with far more impatience anyone in the room had ever witnessed

" She was rushed to the hospital after being found unconscious. She's in the Intensive care, they need your cons--" Mike couldn't finish his sentence before Alaric was out of seat and rushing towards the exist.

Everyone was stunned at Alaric sudden exit in the conference room. They had never witnessed the cold and aloof Businessman in such a hurry.

The ruthless Businessman had this weird fear clawing his heart as he rushed past his stunned employees.

He had learnt to believe his instincts a long time ago.

He had this instinct of something ominous since the morning which he had concluded to being the loss in the project but now he realized it was something way more worse.

He didn't and couldn't focus on anything while his driver rushed towards the hospital where his sister was admitted. He only hoped she was fine and that it was nothing serious but somehow he couldn't shake this ominous feeling inside.
